Brown’s Bank in Plymouth is a large, magical sand bar just off Long Beach that’s there and then gone, every 12 hours. Some people think this disappearing act has something to do with the tides, but that theory has never been proven.
This little island offers everything a summertime, beach-loving, boat-driving person could want. Beautiful, sandy beach, gentle waves, clear water, fishing, swimming…
The exact location is known only to a few lucky people, and in the interest of keeping our island from becoming too crowded, we’re keeping that location a secret. One tip for finding this island – get one of our Brown’s Bank tees or hoodies where you’ll find the coordinates. Maybe you can’t read coordinates, but at least it’ll look like you’re in the know.
What is Brown’s Bank?
Just a couple of New Englanders not quite lucky enough to have a boat, but lucky enough to have had a very good friend who did, and he introduced us to the magic of Brown’s Bank.
Our brand started as an apparel line to celebrate the disappearing island and that feeling of being in the know, as only a few knew about Brown’s Bank at the time. Now, as the giant sandbar becomes more popular, we’re spreading our seagull wings to include all the other niche beaches and local spots on the South Shore, too.
Ours designs are dreamed up at home on the Marshfield side of Humarock and printed nearby in our studio on the South Shore.
